In this blog post we’ll take things right back to the beginning and take a look at the technological advancements that D-Link has made in the last 30 years. Over this period of time the networking market has changed drastically, below are some particular highlights for D-Link:
- 1996 – Launched 1st Managed Ethernet Switch
- 2002 – Launched D-Link’s 1st Wireless IP Surveillance Camera
- 2005 – Patent for D-Link “Zone Defence Security”
- 2006 – Worlds 1st D-Link Green brand Product
- 2007 – D-Link becomes the first company in the networking industry to introduce Green Ethernet technology in its Gigabit switches.
- 2013 – Launch of Baby Camera
- 2014 – Introduction of series of connected home products
As can be seen from the timeline, D-Link has come from relatively modest beginnings in Taiwan into an exciting global brand offering the latest network solutions.
In 2014 D-Link’s first connected home products were introduced to the market and this has been a key focus of our consumer business ever since. With D-Link’s recently launched Z-Wave range of smart home products coming to the market this year and further smart home products in the pipeline this is certainly an area of growth that D-Link will look to exploit.
Smart businesses need to focus on the integration of technology in order to truly excel in this day and age. With that in mind our end-to-end business solutions cater for businesses looking to supply to the vertical sectors that require a strong and robust network in order to succeed.
When you’re thinking about your business, every decision you make involves technology somewhere. A web search to check facts, an online conference, a status check on a key system: technology is wired into the way we work.
The worlds thirst for data is growing, and little seems to quench it. Videos are becoming higher definition, VR/360-degree applications are growing in usage, and even everyday web pages are beginning to grow in size. If your business is already starting to feel the pinch for data bottlenecks, an upgrade to 10 Gigabit Ethernet switches will put you back in the fast lane.
Ultimately Gigabit switching provides a number of benefits including greater scalability, less cabling and simple virtualisation. The obvious advantage however is the speeds involved, moving to 10 Gigabit Ethernet can bring numerous advantages as well. For instance better hardware and rack space efficiency, more available space and lower overall power consumption. Simple virtualisation also reduces your need for on-site servers and storage through virtualised network apps.
If you’re a business looking to benefit from the increased bandwidth of 10 Gigabit Ethernet this blog post will highlight the benefits that that this can bring. 10 Gigabit used to be the exclusive realm of large companies, however now this is simply not the case. D-Link’s DXS-1210 series of Ethernet Smart Managed Switches bring business benefits of high performance combined with the low latency of 10G Ethernet to businesses of all sizes.
